The following letter to the editor was published in Saturday’s Post & Mail from City Councilman Doug Fahl:
Dear Editor:
The closing of the Blockbuster Video Store has prompted me to write this letter. Once again, I feel that a large corporation has abandoned Columbia City when we are no longer convenient for them. I would urge your readers to take this opportunity to break the DVD habit and support a local business. Please visit the Bones Theater! It is a great way to beat the heat at a reasonable price (less than most of us pay for late fees). It is also very comforting to have the owner hand you your popcorn and ask if you enjoyed the movie. Please support all our local businesses whenever possible. These folks are our friends and neighbors working hard to bring us the goods and services we need.
